Bounding has steadily built to the task through two starts this time and remains outright $5 favourite in 2016 Sapphire Stakes betting markets with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au.

Debuting in spring for Peter and Paul Snowden, Bounding charged home to win the Group 3 TheShark.com.au Stakes (1100m) before finishing a credible third in the Group 3 Sheraco Stakes (1200m) a fortnight later.

Returning to the paddock following a tough run, the Lonhro mare ran ninth in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) first-up this time before boxing on for third in the Group 1 The Galaxy (1100m) on March 19th.

Allocated the ideal barrier 6, Bounding has been confirmed to be partnered by Kerrin McEvoy in the 2016 Sapphire Stakes.

Neither Griante nor Cradle Me are yet to herald much interest in 2016 Sapphire Stakes betting markets, but remain locked on the second line at particularly generous $6.50 quotes.

Griante has returned to racing in exceptional condition this time and undoubtedly offers punters the best value for money at current Sapphire Stakes odds.

Claiming seven wins and a further eight minors through twenty-seven competitive starts, the Good Journey mare was unlucky to be completely held up in the Oakleigh Plate first-up but responded with a huge late turn of foot to post a maiden win at the highest level in The Galaxy.

Sure to find a handy position in transit from barrier 8, Griante will be partnered by last-start hoop Craig Williams.

Cradle Me has arguably returned to racing in career-best form this time and will be tough to beat in the Sapphire Stakes from barrier 7 with only 54kgs.

Running fifth in the Listed Starlight Stakes (1100m) first-up on November 28th, the Easy Rocking mare returning to winning form in the Listed Razor Sharp Handicap (1200m) before repeating the dose in the Listed Canterbury Classic (1200m).

Returning to the paddock for a brief freshen-up, Cradle Me ran third in the Group 3 Wenona Girl Quality (1200m) and fourth in the Group 3 Birthday Card Stakes (1200m) most recently.

Secret Agenda ($7.50) interestingly figures as the only other runner currently available at 2016 Sapphire Stakes odds of less-than $10, while Sultry Feeling ($11), Vezalay ($13) and Bring Me The Maid ($17) all represent terrific value at double-figure quotes.
